Questions

The things people ask before they give.

Does Jivdaya Setu take a cut of my donation?

No. The payment settles directly into the shelter's own bank account through the gateway. We never hold the money, so there is nothing for us to take out of it.

What happens if a need is only partly funded?

Nothing is lost. Several donors can fund the same need, and the amount raised is visible as it climbs. The shelter purchases once it has what it needs, and every donor to that need sees the same bill and photographs afterwards.

What if the shelter never uploads the proof?

The requirement stays open and never closes. It does not count towards their trust score, which is the one number donors look at, and a low score pulls their next physical inspection forward.

Can I get an 80G tax receipt?

Yes. One consolidated certificate per organisation per financial year, generated for you and kept in My Donations. It carries the shelter's legal name, its 80G registration number, and the payment reference.

Who checks the shelters?

Our own volunteers. One of them travels to the site, files a report with photographs and location data, and that report is reviewed by admin along with every document before the shelter is approved.

What is a sangh doing on a cow shelter platform?

Jain sanghs and sansthas run seva of their own and face the same problem: real needs, no way to be seen or trusted at a distance. They go through the same six verification steps and answer for the money the same way.

Can I give without picking a specific need?

Yes. Give to the organisation directly and it is marked undesignated, then allocated to that same organisation's open needs. It still ends up in the chain of bill, photographs and report.

Something about a shelter looks wrong. What do I do?

Raise a dispute from its profile in the app. It goes to our admin team and it moves that shelter's next inspection forward to the day you raised it.

Which languages does the app support?

English, Hindi and Gujarati, in full rather than partially.

When can I actually donate?

When the app is published. The platform is built and the first organisations are in verification now. No donations have been taken yet.

The app is where all of this happens.

Browse verified shelters and sanghs, fund a specific need, and follow it through to the bill. Available in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
