Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

This policy reads differently from a typical e-commerce refund policy because of how the platform works. Please read the first section before anything else.

We never hold your money

Jivdaya Setu is not a payment gateway and does not collect, custody or route donor funds. You pay the Panjrapol or sangh directly — by UPI, netbanking, cash or cheque — and then record that payment for your own history and your 80G receipt. Because the money never passes through us, there is no platform balance for us to refund.

If you want a refund

A refund of a completed donation is between you and the organisation you paid. We encourage you to:

We cannot guarantee an organisation will issue a refund, and we cannot process one ourselves since we never received the funds. What we can do is investigate, suspend an organisation’s listing if we find evidence of misconduct, and help you reach them.

If a donation was recorded in error

If you recorded a donation with the wrong amount, date or recipient — a data-entry mistake rather than a dispute about the underlying payment — contact us and we will correct or remove the platform record. This moves no money; it only fixes what the platform shows.

Effect on 80G tax receipts

If an organisation refunds a donation after we have issued an 80G receipt for it, that receipt no longer reflects a valid donation and must not be used for a tax deduction claim. Contact us and we will reissue your consolidated receipt excluding that amount. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your own tax filing.

Platform fees

Jivdaya Setu does not currently charge donors, Panjrapols or sanghs any platform fee or commission on donations, so there is no platform-side charge to refund.
